Applying is simple — here's how it works.
Becoming a member of IALM takes just a few steps. Whether you are joining at an entry grade or applying for one of our professional grades, the process is designed to be clear and straightforward.
Choose your grade
Decide which membership grade is right for you. If you are unsure, our guide to membership levels will help — and you are always welcome to contact us for advice before you apply.
Complete your application
Complete our online membership application form. It takes only a few minutes, and asks for some basic details about you and the grade you are applying for.
Provide supporting information (professional grades only)
For our entry grades, an interest in the field is all that's required. For our professional grades — Associate Member, Full Member and Fellow — we ask for some supporting evidence to confirm your eligibility, such as a CV and details of your relevant qualifications and experience.
Confirm your subscription
Membership is supported by an annual subscription, which varies by grade. You can find the current fees under Grades & Benefits.
Welcome to IALM
Once your application has been received and (where relevant) reviewed, we will confirm your membership and welcome you to the Institute — and you'll be able to access your member benefits straight away.
