Student Membership is designed for those currently studying, offering an early and affordable connection to the world you are preparing to enter. Whether you are studying education, psychology, cognitive science or a related field — or are simply a student with a genuine interest in how people learn — this grade welcomes you into the IALM community from the very start of your journey.
As a Student Member, you gain access to our community, resources and events, the chance to connect with established professionals and fellow students, and a way to begin building your standing in the field before your career has formally begun. Just as valuably, you can put the Institute's work to use in your own studies — understanding how you learn most effectively, and studying with greater purpose and confidence.
This grade is right for you if you are:
An undergraduate or postgraduate student on a relevant programme, such as education, psychology or cognitive science
A student in any field with a genuine interest in learning, metacognition and cognitive development
Beginning to explore the field and looking for an affordable way to connect with the Institute
Eligibility
Open to anyone currently enrolled as a student in full-time or part-time education. Proof of current student status is required.

None. (Professional post-nominals begin at Associate Member.)
